Artist Henry Hargreaves is serving up technology with twice your daily saturated fat. Hargreaves sculpted tablets, laptops, and mp3 players from foamcore. Then, they took a dip in the frier. “Deep Fried Gadgets” explores a common subject of artistic critique: the commodity fetish and consumption politics. Still, the cheesy, greasy gadgets make a gut-busting, visceral point: there is something campy and delicious about our unhealthy fascination with technology and “junk food.”
